HIMINBJORG
was founded in 1996 by Zahaah & Elvan.
Acoustic instruments joined forces with powerfull metal sound shared with mystical
and catchy mélodies. With its original sound and way of composing, HIMINBJORG
succeed to catch the attention of many labels and finally sign a deal with Red
Stream Rec (USA) in 1998.
1998 is also the year of the release of the band’s debut album, "Where Ravens Fly" and of the Mathrien’s arrival in HIMINBJORG. The band showed a new and personal orientation for its music with combination of strong and quiet atmospheres.
Zahaah, Elvan, Mathrien “mystical union” is perfect and HIMINBJORG will make a lot of concerts with various session members.
HIMINBJORG released its second album "In The Ravens Shadow" in 1999. Inspirations seemed to drive the band to the darkest aspect of its soul. The music now is darker and sharper.
In 2000, HIMINBJORG gained international interest and succed to build a strong reputation of impressive licve-act. 2000 will be also the year of departure for Elwan, but the band continue its fight .
The mini-Cd "Third" (2001) which was recorded in the Lab studio by Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) show a big musical evolution. It’s the time of the maturity with better songs and high quality production.
It’s in 2002 that "Haunted Shores” was released. This album is the natural following of the musical evolution showed in "Third". Mélodies are everywhere and each songs are wealthier and better composed. "Haunted Shores" was the last recording for Red Stream Rec. In november 2002, HIMINBJORG played live in south of France with label mates Nehëmah & Blodsrit during the “From The Past” Tour.
In september 2003, HIMINBJORG was back with a new line-up and a 4th album called “Golden Age”, the first album released by Adipocere Rec. The bands returned again on the road for a lot of concert in France, Germany and Belgium. During the summer 2004, “Haunted Shores” and “Third” are repressed by Adipocere on a single Cd.
Today, HIMINBJORG is back with a 5th album who combine perfectly the musical
roots of the band with the will to explore new musical landcapes in order to
propose their most ambitious effort.
This is the time again for conquest and ancestral fight...
